Khemah Gala, based in the Dearne Valley near Rotherham, has seen a 30 per cent increase in orders for garden marquees in the last month – which it attributes, in part, to people planning events to mark the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle!
Jason Mace, managing director of Gala Tent, says “We saw a similar increase in marquee sales just before Prince William’s wedding back in 2011. In addition, it’s the FA Cup final on the same day after the wedding coverage has finished, so lots of people are seeing it as a chance for a double celebration!”
The company has seen the biggest rise in demand for the 3m x 2m Gala Tent marquee and 3m x 6m Gala Tent Marquee Pro.
Keynote research has revealed that people are spending more time entertaining at home, rather than going out and that 80% of people see the garden as somewhere to relax and entertain friends and family.
Gala Tent offers a wide variety of marquees and gazebos to suit both large and more compact garden and patio areas. All products are quick and simple to erect and are designed to withstand the worst of the British weather, with selected products tested to withstand up to 80 mph winds.
In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for organisations including the military, NHS, the South Yorkshire Fire & amp; Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Police Service, St John’s Ambulance and AA, as well as to thousands of homeowners nationally.
